Youth Leadership & Chamber Music Festival 7:00 – 9:15 PM
All members of the Youth Chamber Music Festival are invited to stay for the
Montgomery Philharmonic Summer Reading Sessions.
The festival is FREE to all who are interested and can commit to attending 5 sessions.
You WILL NOT be accepted unless you can make all of the rehearsals and the performance.

Monday, June 27 – Informational meeting and first rehearsal,
6:00–6:45 PM
• Chamber Music Festival – July 11, 18, 25, and August 1, 6:00–7:00 PM
• We offer FREE string ensemble, woodwind ensembles, and brass ensemble.
• If COVID levels rise during the festival, we will rehearse outdoors in the parking lot of L & L Music across the street from GPC.
• Apply ONLINE ONLY at montgomeryphilharmonic.org.
• Please bring a music stand, pencil, and instrument to each session.
• Audition and Attendance Requirements – Short solo or etude
and 2 scales of your choice (string players will NOT audition;
they will be placed based on experience).You must attend all
5 rehearsals and the performance.
• All intermediate level musicians are welcome – ages 11–19.
• After the audition (for placement), musicians will be divided into small ensembles by ability and instrumentation.
• During the summer months, the Montgomery Philharmonic
holds weekly sight reading sessions for musicians in
Montgomery County. You are welcome to join the orchestra
for these reading sessions.
• Festival Concert – Friends and family are welcome –
